Who was that ?

Remember that familiar person who existed once upon a time? Who had an enthusiasm to be honest, to blurt out the truth without the need of being politically correct, without the desire to be poetic, without the desire to display linguistic prowess. Who was that ? A glimpse of that person can be found in old status updates, or in old blog post where you didn’t care to correct the “loose” as “lose”.

Today, you might be ashamed of being that person but that’s who you actually are. As a child, you were that person, and then you grew up to be that person, but now you run away from that identity because it does not abide by the guidelines of the accepted worldly behavior. So now, you’ve created the pseudo worldly identity, to try and get on the receiving end of attention, applaud or even affection. You’ve become a person that people would like, irrespective of your own liking towards yourself, you’ve become a person that may not be you.

The filters of right and wrong, cool and uncool have changed you. Away from them, as a child you were yourself. Now, no matter how much ever you try to change by putting on the make-up, to build an identity that the world recognizes. You will never ever truly change yourself.

Deep inside you’ll always be who you’ve always been, despite the worldly liking.

So call that person again, and let him reside in your inner being. For then you'll stop pretending.

PS- I could’ve written about the new Galaxy S4 but I’m being myself and acting as if I’m unaware of the current affairs.
